Fly Screen Installation Guide
Fly screens must be fitted carefully in order to cover the whole window or door opening without leaving any gaps. Below is a guide how to fit different types of fly screens. Note: installation of fly screens depends on the type of fly screens selected, and may differ in each individual case. If unsure, contact our staff.
Fixed Fly Screen Installation
Fixed fly screens are very easy to install. For fixed fly screens with clips, open the window and protrude the screen though the opening, holding on the two handles. Then direct the top clips into the groove on the top frame and push upwards to secure. Then pull slightly down to secure the bottom clips as well. Use the security clamps to fasten the top clips.
Hinged Door Screen Installation
Hinged door screens can be fitted in several locations: on the wall outside the door recess, inside the door recess, or on the frame of the door. Below is a step by step instruction of how to install the basic type of hinged door screens.
1. Decide on the fitting location, and mark the holes to be drilled into the surface of the wall or frame. For this purpose, hold the door screen against the aperture. It is helpful to put a smooth board on the threshold while you are doing this.
2. Drill the holes, using a size appropriate for the material that you are drilling into.
3. Hold the door screen against the aperture and screw the hinges using the pre-drilled holes.
4. Mark the place where the magnetic catches will be fixed. Choose the appropriate locations on the wall or frame at the handle-side of the fly screen.
5. Pre-drill the holes and screw the magnetic catches in place.
Retractable Screen Installation
Retractable screens can be fitted over windows and doors, either on the frame or on the wall above the frame. It is important to consider the opening direction of windows and doors. For inward opening windows and doors, fix the fly screen externally. For outward opening windows and doors, fix the fly screen internally. Fix the guide tracks, cassette and the bottom rail as required.
Fly Screen Installation Guarantee
Fly screen installation has no separate guarantee, but is included in the general guarantee of fly screens, which is outlined in the agreement to be signed prior to the manufacturing process.
