Wooden Window Prices

Wooden window prices are determined by many factors, including the species and type of wood used, the size and shape required (arched, oval and other non-standard wooden windows are more expensive), as well as the chosen wooden profile, window glazing type, opening type and ventilation facilities, if any. The price of wooden windows is also affected by adding one of the available accessories:

Wooden window colours: if you choose a non-standard colour, the price is higher.
Wooden window hardware accessories: any additional facilities raise the total price. These include gradual tilt facility, locking handle and others.
Wooden window air vents: the price increases if you order a horizontal or vertical air vent for wooden windows.
Wooden window sills: the standard wooden window price does not include window sills. Interior and exterior window sills are added to the total wooden window price.
Wooden window grids: Georgian bars are priced separately.
Additional wooden window accessories: the price goes up if you want your wooden windows to be sealed using supplemental window sealing tape or improve their performance by inserting warm edge spacer bars, or when you order a wooden window maintenance kit.

Below is a comparison of different types of wooden windows in terms of price. Prices may change, so instead of numbers we give you a relative comparison. Note: only wooden windows with one or two panels are included in the comparison.

Wooden Window Guarantee

Wooden windows carry a guarantee of a specified period. During this time, faulty wooden windows or their components will be repaired free of charge, unless the faults are caused by improper operation or negligence on the part of the customer. In order to be qualified for the full guarantee, please keep ...Read more the certificate of guarantee, the document of purchase, and the signed agreement. Wooden window guarantee is invalid if any one of these documents is missing, or when the faults are a consequence of inadequate operation or handling, or in the event of unforeseeable act of elements such as fire, hurricane, lightning, etc.

Wooden window guarantee is generally given to the following components of wooden windows. Terms and conditions differ in each individual case, so please refer to your signed agreement for further specifications.
1. Wooden windows come with a 1-10 year guarantee which is applicable when the customer simultaneously orders installation and / or finish of wooden windows. Otherwise, the guarantee is issued by the firm that provides the wooden window installation / finish services.
2. Wooden window frames (profiles) are usually given a 5 year guarantee. The exact period depends on the chosen wooden profile type and is specified in the agreement to be signed prior to the manufacturing process. Wooden window profiles are guaranteed against cracking and splitting as a result of poor production or its weight (provided that relative humidity in the room does not exceed 60 %).
3. Wooden window glazing carries a 1-10 year guarantee against spontaneous fracturing and hermetic sealing failure. No dust or air shall enter the sealed double glazed or triple glazed unit during the specified period, if the wooden windows are handled properly.
4. Wooden window furniture or hardware (hinges, locking, accessories) is usually covered by a 5 year guarantee, if not specified otherwise. The guarantee ensures that during this period, wooden window hinges will sustain the weight of wooden windows and will not rust or break spontaneously.
5. Wooden window coating (paint, stain, varnish) usually comes with a 2-5 year guarantee, depending on the type. After this period, wooden windows should be re-coated*. The guarantee specifies that wooden window coating will not flake or peel during the specified period (provided that relative humidity in the room does not exceed 60 %). The guarantee for wooden window paint is applied only when the wood surface is annually treated with a special wood balsam.
6. Wooden window aluminium cladding and aluminium drainage strips usually carry a 5 year guarantee. During the specified period, aluminium parts will not bend as a result of climate conditions; the paint of aluminium parts will not peel.
7. Wooden window seals are covered by a 5 year guarantee, if not specified otherwise. Window seals will stay elastic and smooth.
8. Wooden window installation is backed by a 1-5 year guarantee, provided that window finish is done within 30 days from the wooden window installation. The guarantee ensures weather-tightness in the joints between wooden window frame and aperture (if weather-tightening is specified in the agreement).
9. Wooden window finish is given a 1-2 year guarantee.

Wooden window guarantee is not applicable if the signed agreement or its supplement contains the statement that guarantee is not provided. If not specified otherwise, faulty wooden window parts, unless the faults appeared due to misuse or negligence on the part of the customer, are to be fixed free of charge. If the faulty component is impossible to fix, wooden window manufacturer will undertake the replacement of a faulty product by a new one in a time period agreed with the customer. When, during the inspection of a faulty wooden window part, it is determined that the faults have emerged due to misuse or negligence on the part of the customer, or when the claim is unsupported, the customer has to cover the expenses of the inspection (fuel cost, time and others, if any). If there is a disagreement about the origin of the faults, wooden windows are to be inspected by independent experts. The customer and the manufacturer are to follow the conclusions provided by the experts.

* Recommendations for re-coating:
Light translucent coating on the exterior surface: re-coat after 2 years.
Dark translucent coating on the exterior surface: re-coat after 3 years.
