Sections. These are the horizontal segments that make up the garage door face. The height of individual sections is usually 500 mm or more, while the depth can vary, depending on the insulation used. The thicker the sections, the better thermal insulation is achieved. The sections are usually double-skinned, which means that they are made of two layers of metal, with a gap in between. The gap is usually filled with an insulating material, which provides heat and sound insulation, as well as a quiet garage door operation. If thermal insulation is not a priority (e.g. when the garage is built separately from the house), garage door sections can be without insulation. Sections are coated in several protective layers of prime and paint, or another option depending on the material used.
